COOL:

This fan has an "H" with a Blue Marlin for the cross-line. Too bad you can't tell that in this drawing. I actually don't own this fan, but I really wish I did. My "wind machine" just ain't cutting it in this sweltering heat. I think tomorrow is supposed to be in the 90S though.. so it looks like we are gonna have a nice cool down. I hope everyone else had fun using their blind contour drawing to cool them off! Whoever draws a pool....your in for a visit!

Wow, yeah, I did a lot of work in "post" to get this thing to not look like ass but it didn't work. I can't cover up my shoddy blindness. I probably wouldn't get any change on a subway with a tin cup attached to my arm as i played the violin. Lots of circles makes things hard to draw. Anyway, here it is, a fan that was formerly pretty cool and retro with lots of flourishes and little dolphins leaping reduced to, well, this. This fan doesn't make me feel any cooler. Hip-wise OR temperature-wise.

The other BCFF participants are up on the left under the side bar title BCFF AUGUST! If YOU wish to participate, email us and we will put you on the reminder list for next month.

terrific bc's, love these old fans, beautiful things! went to the museum yesterday to draw one too but they were on a top shelf of a room with extremely high ceilings and hardly any light, what kind of way is THAT to display something? going to have to bc the pool instead I guess :)

I like when you guys do blind contours.
And you two can always come take a dip in my ocean... anytime!

These are amazing---so humanish, not to be confused with humanoid. They've got quite a bit of personality (different ones, of course) and sass, too. You got all of that out of some bent metal!

Just so you know, the painting you (Niff) posted a few posts ago is beautiful. I was thinking about it while I was cooling off in the pool yesterday.

i love older style fans. i almost did my ge fan, but remembered how hard it was to do so many circles. that, and it was in the other, non-air-conditioned room. good job, as always!

I love older fans. I also like seeing different renditions of the same object. These are great. Fans are hard to draw... so many wire things.

Nice variations on the same subject. It's always interesting to see both your perspective views on a subject. I like the scrolling fan portions and the color choices, very cool!

These are wonderful. Old fans are so neat & it's great how you both captured the movement. PS- I wanted to do one of the pool or the ocean, but water in BC isn't terribly interesting...
