Niff

I like green! I added some color just because I wanted to play around with it a bit. I really like it just by itself, but I thought I would spice it up a tad.

It's always fun to blind contour something that has lots of type on it. Sure it never ends up where it's supposed to be (see above) but, in the end it looks really cool to see how the letterforms are translated. Especially when the item is in perspective. You have to train your eye/brain to look at words as shapes rather than the letters we have grown to know and love. So, that is my challenge to you: Lots of typography.
Everyone has been doing such creative things with these drawings, its so fun and inspiring to see people taking this little exercise, really having fun with it, and making small masterpieces. Matt and I decided to draw a bottle of "Zazz" which is basically seltzer water that we are obsessed with, and a bottle of Woodchuck cider. Both are delicious beverages, both make you burp!
SO MUCH TO SEE!!!!!:
Donna Darko , Karen’s Blog, Laurelines, Rachael Fowler, Callathump, Janey’s Journal, LilyPilydaze , Apple-Pine, Lindsay Olson, Monkey Paints, The Seeks, Koukla Carolyn, Wally Torta, June 25th, Kimlan Cornell, Learning Daily, >Paula Becker, Craft Monkeys, Jim Jones, and some new additions;

Wow, you guys, these are really fantastic. I like the bubbles! The typography really makes these drawings that much more interesting to look at. You can definitely tell that you both were focused on getting down exactly what you saw in front of you, which is the obvious goal, but not always easy to do. Admittedly, I'd initially shy away from objects with lettering because I'd deem them too difficult, but if I can get results as nice as this it's worth trying!

I love Niff's curly lines and Sutter's suttery ones--yay again, you two! The two bottles seem very fond of each other---a little relationship commentary thrown in, eh?
PS the color added in both is perfect

Well, you may have chosen a seltzer bottle, but Sutter evidently found a bottle of Setzer. Setzer must be a Christmas drink--no L. Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

We'll just have to call you pioneers of BC this week. Drawing while under the influence AND typography! I'll really have to get it in gear next week!

Zazz really cool! I love seeing your drawings each week--neat to see how 2 people draw the same thing. Lindsay's comment and your drawing has inspired me....next Thursday nite....cheap wine BC in my blog. We'll see if drinking effects the look of my BC.

Great bottles. Can my feeble little drawing join the party?

I like the one with color because well I like color but I like the one without because of the rasberry. Typography huh? Ok, I'll do another one tonight with letters. It is fun and it does really loosen things up a bit.

Still not sure HOW to subscribe or submit for Blind Contour Friday. But...I did a bc with typography entry: http://nellynortay.blogspot.com/2005/09/still-life-with-bathroom-cleaners.html
It's truly worth the frustration. I love looking at and being inspired by your work!

Cripes! Typography?! What is it with you overachievers?
I kid because I love.
Both entries look awesome.... as usual! And I'm really fond of the splashes of color.
Disregard the pun.

Golly...Like Terry said, I feel lazy with my BC after seeing what you two did! Reminds me of the Guinness bottles I did a few weeks ago. It is fun to do the lettering! And you just KNOW it's not going to be where it should. Makes it more interesting though. Well done, guys!
