Niff

I wish I could paint large areas of black, I think it would make my image much better. I am a bit tired tonight, so I didn't have my usual patience. I tried to draw with my eyes completely closed but that didn't work out well at all. ha ha
Sutter

I don't know how much of a success this contour was but here we have it. It looks as if the camera fell from several stories onto a flagpole sticking out which made the center smash up and out. It's just like an old Chuck Jones cartoon with Sylvester the Cat. That blue thingy in the foreground is a film roll and the blue thingy in the background is the film canister.
Matt and I decided to draw his old PENTAX camera...lots of little number and gears to totally miss. It was hard drawing the lens because I noticed how I wanted to elongate it. It's fun to see how our brains space things out.
Here are some other sites that we hope are participating in our Blind Contour Friday:
Rachael Fowler, LaureLines, Callathump, Lindsay Olsen, Kimlan Cornell, of Sock Monkey Drawer. Koukla Carolyn, The Seeks and ,Learning Daily,Monkeypaints

These are a great pair of drawings! Niff, your accuracy when blind still amazes me--makes me eager to practice, practice this kind of drawing and I have been! It's actually a tiny bit addictive.

These are both really great. I'm always so suprised by how much really authentic detail can be captured in blind contour.
Thanks for the challange.

Very nice, Sutter & Niff. It's been very interesting to see how you both react to the same subject for BC. THese drawings are both very dynamic & I really like the addition of the yellow & blue areas.

Nice drawings :)
I love the inclusion of colors. Is the line under niff's lens the shadow delimitation?

That's fantastic detail you get, Niff and Sutter! Especially the shading.
I wrote that I'd be participating but maybe you didn't get it. Anyway, here's my entry - my kitchen tool container. I'm going to do this every Friday - what a lot of fun!

These are yummy as always - I just love blind contour drawing - really relaxing and ever so surprising. Thanx all for your kind comments on mine - I did it in about 2 minutes flat and it's my best yet lol. Will try adding colour to the next one ....

Niff--Surprisingly enough it doesn't work too well if you try to draw your blind contour while looking at the tv instead of the object, either. Like I tried to do :)

How the hell do you get such accurate detail?
Amazing. Both cameras look great.
Here's my addition:

Niff--I thought I'd give it a quick try this week:

But honestly, you two...All that detail and it still looks like a camera! Very nice! I checked out the other participants as well and love the results. Such surreal-looking stuff along with a fresh, unpredictable edged.

Gosh! i decided to secretly join in with the Blind Contour Friday thing and the first one i did (fri 12th) was of an old manual camera..(a Nikon)..how spooky! Except mine was a horrible horrible mess... not like these. I like the random film canisters.
