Cacti to die for.

Holy amazing!

I am probably going to be wallpapering the wall in our dinning room- that houses the stairs. It is a small wall- but it could really amp up the place if it had some pattern!

My choices right now are all too dang expensive, especially this one, but how amazing is it? i am considering just making my own pattern and hand painting or drawing it on the wall. I can do that right?

This Succulent pattern by Makelike shop in red and grey are just too cute. The price tag, not cute. At $200 a roll with a 2 roll minimum, I am very sad. But I can dream can't I?

They also have a very cute Cactus pattern, and some dishtowels with the same design. Maybe I can splurge on them? Maybe after taxes are paid.

Go drool.

Making Trash look good.

I FINALLY was able to purchase this $60 trash bin at the Conran Shop. It has been out of stock for the past 6 months at least. I literally gasped when I saw it was available.

It will be mine in a few weeks. I ordered black, even though I was tempted to get it in red. The black will be so nice in our sexy new kitchen!

Isn't it super cute? It is a nice size at 12 gallons, and super slim. OH, and not $500 dollars! Why would ANYONE want to buy a trash can that was that much money? They aren't even that great. Yes, I am looking at  you VIPP. I even read a blog that I won't name that I respect very much except for the fact that they actually purchased the VIPP tiny little bathroom can for $250 bucks! I don't care how cute it is- that is just gross. I can't wait to get rid of the hideous stainless steel modern looking can we have now. Classic design is the way to go.

Bruce the cat

As some of my friends know, I am a crazy cat lady- I only have 2 cats, but I get so sad about homeless kitties- and living in South Philly doesn't help! We have so many feral cats in this area- and even more are around the Circus School where I teach. So many kittens all the time!

I get so sad when winter comes, but this year we have gotten over 30 inches of snow and it is COLD out! Record low temps and it has been below freezing for more than 13 days now.

To make a long story short- we have a few regular stray cats that visit our back yard. 1 is Kitler (she is a calico and she has a Hitler mustache.) I was pretty sure she was my neighbors cat- but I see her outside an awful lot.

2. There is "Swirly cat"- cute cat- with big swirls on his/her side.

3. We have Bruce the cat. Bruce is what I named him because he is very manly looking and has he definitely still has his kitty balls. So I think he is a true Feral. Bruce comes by all the time and cries for food- and of COURSE I feed him, but today he was crying for so long and it is SO cold out, I just couldn't stand it!

I made him a shelter and he LOVES it! He went right in and is all snuggled up and warm.

I feel so much better.

This is one of Bruce's first visits this summer. Steve doesn't now WHAT to think of him. But he tries and tries to talk to him. HE won't SHUT up if Bruce is outside.

My awesome waterproof shelter! I took our kittie's bed (they don't need it), and put some catnip in it- Bruce was rolling all around in there. Look how happy he is!

Be kind to animals and donate old blankets to your local SPCA!

Foxy Lady

I found the cutest scarf. I can't afford it- but I can dream and add it to my Amazon Wish list in hopes someone buys it for me!

It inspired me to look for more foxy finds!

Perfect dress for a trapeze artist right?

Okay, so I usually don't wear strapless dresses- mostly because the "girls" don't go for it. (Girls= boobs, btw.)

BUT- I am very willing to make an exception in this case. Probably the cutest dress ever! Am I right? Cotton Wright Dress at Anthropology of course.

French Press for success...

So how many french presses have you broken? I have gone through 3. First one I got was broken by a friend, then the next  two were just from Ikea- but they ended up being broken as well. I finally wised up and decided to find a version that could not be broken, and I found this-

A Frieling stainless steel french press. This baby is not only sleek and unbreakable, but it is also keeps your coffee warm and has a very tight and high quality build. The mesh is smooth and tightly woven, and there are no pokey metal edges that stab you or catch sponge in them while trying to clean it. 

My only regret is not getting a bigger one. I went for the 17ounce because it said it made 3-4 cups, when in reality it only makes 1 full mug or 2 very small mugs.  I should have splurged and gone for the bigger size, even if it did mean a bigger price tag- it would be worth it. I know I will never have to replace it- and even though you can't see how much coffee is left- it never looks gross and dirty sitting on your counter.

This beauty has already paid for itself in the quality of the brewing and the fact that I wont have to replace it every few months because my cats knocked it over in the sink or my clumsy hands had some other mishap.

I may just get a jumbo 42oz in case we ever have company.

Always a bridesmaid
